Varney, Troy

Troy Varney is the youngest child of Joe and his wife Mignon Varney. His wife's name is Brittany. The pair were married right out of college, in the spring of 1997. Troy's good friend Duane MacRae was not able to make it. Their first child is due February 10, 1999.^HS7

Troy was one grade ahead of his neighbor, Duane MacRae. "In spite of that difference, which can be a big deal in school, they were best friends and playmates through elementary school, and to a somewhat lesser extent in middle school and high school."^HS7

Troy and Brittany returned to his parents' house for Thanksgiving of 1998. Duane "Duane had spent much of the afternoon teasing Troy about surfing, skiing, rafting, climbing, the chance to do the AT, and other joys of the single life, while Troy had tried to tease him back about the joys of marriage. It was pretty clear who had won that round, and it wasn't Troy."^HS8

Troy and Brittany were at her parents' on Christmas 1998 when his older sister Vicky received a motorcycle.^HS9
