Fred Linder was Warsaw's fire chief at the time of the great Warsaw Fire as described in Snowplow Extra.

Fred is the grandson of Bob Linder, a spiritual godfather to Spearfish Lake dog sledding. He competes in the Warsaw Run and is known to have won it in 1997 and took second place in 1998.^AC24
