Bob Linder is the grandfather of Fred Linder. After WWII Bob loaned some dogs to George Lindquist so he could check his trap lines during the winter. When Mike McMahon and Mark Gravengood got interested in dog sleds, they consulted with George Lindquist who passed on the knowledge he had gained years before. See Busted Axle Road chapter 32.
