Summary
The tiny bikinis get more use than Scooter had originally expected, and they did more sailing, visited more islands, and did more sightseeing than they had the previous year. When they got back, they were offered a very attractive discount on the Felicity Ann for next year, refundable up until September 1, so they took it. They flew back to Phoenix, where Jon and Tanisha meet them and drive them to Flagstaff; they were interested in the Bahamas for next year, depending on the work situation at Lambdatron.
When they got back to Flagstaff, they found Al and Karin wrestling with the logistics for the wedding trip. Al wants Scooter and Crystal to check out the Bass trail before the plans are firmed up for anyone to hike out from the wedding trip, and grumbles about not being able to find a minister willing to marry them in the Canyon. Crystal calls Noah, who is agreeable, but will have to check with his boss.
Scooter, Crystal, and Michelle spend the next month working on rafts and gear, with an occasional trip for snowboarding, and a week on Maui surfing. When Al and Karin heard their report, they headed out there for a week of their own and had an equally good time.
Crystal and Scooter determine that the Bass trail is workable, if they use a 4wd vehicle to get between the trailhead and the closest point where Jeff would be willing to take the crew bus. Just before the Park Service trip, Al picks Dan and Jerry as assistant trip leaders for the season.
