Avalon was a children's television program. It was shot in a studio in New York City, and Shae Kirkendahl played a major character: Shaella Sunrise.

There was an earlier children's show, Chaley's House on which Shae worked. That one was canceled, but a partly rewritten version initially called The Giantess of Avalon with Shae as the lead was started.^HS17 The name was eventually simplified to just Avalon around December 1999.^HS28

CTN, who was producing Avalon, was a very low budget operation. The program was designed to appeal to kids of a very narrow age range: two to five or six. The show was written so it doesn't reflect current events. That means once there's a collection of shows built up, after three or four years the same shows can be started over with a whole new audience.^PUTP30

One of Shae's contacts with management connections, or possibly in management himself, was Ben.^PUTP35 John and Rita were apparently managing the program.^PUTP20
