Rawson, Rachel

Pat and Rachel Rawson are former boatmen with Canyon Tours, but now run a gift shop on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Among their children are a son with the Phoenix Police Department and a daughter, Michelle.

"Rachel was the second Canyon Tours woman boatman, after Louise. She and Pat both ran that trip where Al and Karin met. The first time, I mean."^CF16 Willie Stein refused to promote a second woman as a boatman after Louise Buck, so Rachel stayed a swamper for years. After Al and Louise bought Canyon Tours, the couple were married and soon had Michelle. They would trade off trips for a while as they raised kids until they quit to open their gift shop. They continued to run half-trips.

Both are 52 years old in 2001, but neither looks to be much over thirty, a trait they passed on to Michelle. They were described as "a couple, both small and blonde."^CF16
