Summary
A few days after the crew swap, Jerry went by at the throttle of a motor raft. They talked for a few minutes; everything was fine and Kelly was happier.
For the next trip, Michelle replaced Karin. Michelle said that Nanci was doing well, and that Crystal and Noah were getting closer, and that their relationship was totally above board. At the end of that trip, there was another massive crew swap. Scooter and Jim would hike down at Phantom Ranch to replace Duane and Larry on Team 2. When they joined up, it was the first time that Scooter had seen Crystal in almost 4 months. Jim met Noah and Nanci; Scooter was amazed at how much better Nanci looked than the first time she saw her, and was surprised to see Nicole on the trip.
Scooter, Crystal, Jim, and Noah talk about how Nanci has been coming along, her friendship with Kevin, and the first cut of Myleigh's Canyon Tours album, which, according to Scooter, is awsome, and that it is titled Canyon Tours. This leads to a discussion of how there's more to the Canyon than geology alone can explain, and how it must be the work of a higher being.
Jim and Noah are comfortable with Scooter and Crystal continuing as leader and assistant, and switching roles each trip, like they had been doing earlier in the year. Crystal muses that in the years to come, she may end up spending more of her time in the office, as Al and Karin start taking more time off. She realizes that, just like Randy, she has a responsibility to move into the management of the family business eventually.
